Men and women are built differently. Our hormones change the way our bodies are shaped, they affect the muscles fat and the size of our bones to repond to different demands later in life. With men, testosterone determines the size of their mucles, bones and causes hair to grow. The more muscle mass on men the quicker they burn calories from food and stored fat. Which is a big factor between men and women when it comes to the fat they store on their bodies.
It's easier for men
It’s easy to see that when women and men do the same training they don’t produce the same results. Studies have shown that men don’t gain weight as quickly as women and they find it easier to lose the weight through exercising. It seems that women have to work much harder than men to lose weight and have been stuck with the hardest part of the weight loss process. Since that most men don’t find it easy to lose weight, you can imagine how hard it is for women.
Unrealistic dream
Another battle for women is the recent obsession with a thin figure. Repeated failed attempts to lose weight have taught the body to hang on to fat, making the weight loss process harder and harder as the years go by. While women become more and more desperate and will try any method available to them. This leads to extreme dieting which often makes a person lose lean tissue rather than fat. Sure they become thinner but they lose their shape and are still unhealthy.
Love your body
A recent BBC study showed that 60 women overweight who exercised for 4 hours a week and were taught how to cook healthier meals felt a massive improvement in their self-esteem and image. On average they lost over 9 pounds in a 3 month period, there blood pressure, cholestrol and heart rate levels droped. They felt much happier and healthier. Maybe this could be the future of the weight loss industry – women coming down to a healthy weight and learn to love their curves, big bums, thighs and boobs. Inside of harming themselves trying to chase a skinny dream that doesn’t exsist.
